Escape22 is a small-scale initiative. We offer you the chance to escape from one beautifully crafted room. All puzzles and riddles have been devised, made, tested and further developed by ourselves.

Answers to frequently asked questions
How long does the game last?
The game itself lasts 60 minutes (unless otherwise indicated for that specific room). We provide you with a short explanation upfront and are always happy to hear what you thought of the experience afterwards. expect to be on location for 1,5 hours.
Is the game accessible to all?
The game is accessible to all, but perhaps not recommended in case you are highly pregnant or have a heart condition. Kids (< 15 years old) are welcome, provided they are accompanied by 1 adult per child.
Is the room accessible by wheel chair?
The entrance to the building is via stairs. The room itself contains some small steps. However, if you bring along enough helpers, it should be possible for you to enjoy the game. Note that there are no wheelchair accessible toilets in the building.
Is the game physically heavy? Scary?
Two times no. You are not expected to perform any hard, manual labour. The room is not scary. At any point in time it is possible to leave the room.
How do I prepare for the game? Do I need to bring something?
No preparation is required. Common sense is all you are expected to bring along (and use).
We are with 6 players...
That is OK. Our room has been played by groups of 6 and remains fun. You will have a little less space though and need to puzzle closer together. The price for 6 players is 120 EUR. Note that you cannot choose this option in the booking form: opt for 5 and add a comment.
We do not accept groups with more than 6 players.
How can I book the room?
Making a booking is possible via our online reservation tool. Your booking is final once you have received a confirmation e-mail. Not received anything yet? Please check your junk mail folder. If booking online does not work, or you have any questions, please send us an e-mail at info@escape22.be. Last minute reservations (<48 hours) can only be made via e-mail (address mentioned above) or over the phone: 0487 12 07 85.
Can I cancel my reservation?
Cancellation is possible by sending an e-mail to bookings@escape22.be. Cancellation up to 48 hours before the start of the game is free of charge. After that, we charge 50%. If you do not show up and neglect to inform us upfront, we charge 100%.
How can I pay?
Payment is done on location, cash or via Bancontact.
In which language can the game be played?
The explanation up front can be offered in Dutch, English or (broken) French. The game itself is played in either Dutch or English. The required language knowledge is limited.
What with Corona/COVID-19?
we follow the latest guidelines. Presently there is no need to wear a mouth mask in the room.
If you are (feeling) sick, please remain at home. Last minute cancellations due to Corona are free of charge, but please let us know.

Puzzles are challenging and fun, lots of variation too. Though we did not manage to escape in time, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Looking forward to the next room

Wow! Wat een mooie kamer! Erg sfeervol aangekleed. De puzzels zijn tamelijk moeilijk, maar leuk om te doen en goed gevonden.
ON FOOT / BY BIKE
Escape22 is easy to reach from the center of Mechelen. Fun routes to try out: Via the Bruul, the city’s most important shopping street (starting from the Grote Markt) – Via the Botanical garden or ‘Kruidentuin’ (starting from the Thomas More College) – Walking on water on the ‘Dijlepad’ (starting from Ijzerenleen or Vismarkt). Bicycle parking is available in the street.
BY CAR
Paid parking is available in the surrounding streets (if a free spot can be found). You can also make use of the free parkings at the outskirts of the city (Douaneplein, Nekker). On Saturdays between 10:00 and 19:00 the free “shopping shuttle” will bring you from these parkings to the Grote Markt. From there, it is a 10 minute walk to Escape22.
BY PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Escape22 is a 10 minute walk away from Mechelen Central Station. You could also opt for the so called “centrumpendel” and get off at stops “Oude Brusselsestraat” (located on the Schuttersvest) or “Hof Van Egmont”. Both stops are less than 100 meters away from Escape22’s front door.
